Memorial in St Sampsons Church, Cricklade, Wiltshire, England: This is infcribed to the Memory of JOHN NOTT eldest Son of the late Capt J.N.P. NOTT first Lieut of his Majesty's Ship Succefs He was carried off by the Yellow Fever at Port Royal Jamaica on the 18th August 1794 in the 24th Year of his Age Also to the Memory of his youngeft Brother GEORGE NOTT who fell a Sacrifice to the fame dreadful diforder in November 1795 in the West Indies on Board his Majesty';s Ship Beaulieu in the 17th Year of his Age. Though Cut off at fo early a Period they promifed not only to be an ornament to their Profefsion but to their Country In private life their Virtues were fuch as to make their lofs ever to be lamented by all who knew them. The affliction of their furviving Parent (by whom this Monument is erected) is too Poignant for defcription.
